3 Point Lighting

3 Point lighting is when there are 3 lights pointed at the subject and lights them up. The three lights used in 3 point lighting are the Key light, the fill light and the back light. The key light is the most important light used. It is positioned the closest to the subject than the other lights and is the strongest light also. The fill light is further away than the key light and fills up the rest of the light on the subject that the key light wasn’t getting. The back light is positioned behind the subject and makes the subject pop and be more focused than the background.
