Problems with filming

There have been a few problems which have led to me not being able to film. Firstly, I had organised for my actors to meet me on the 23rd of January, however my car broke down. This led to me not being able to get there as I was stranded so my actors did other things. I then re-scheduled to film on the 30th, however I broke my humorous (not very funny) which meant I could not drive to film and could not move my arm. This should be resolved, hopefully, next weekend.

Rushes

To show what my footage looked like prior to post-production and to see if i needed to re-shoot anything, I shot up to 14GB of film and uploaded them to find multiple mistakes I had made. However I ended up keeping these mistakes in. This gave it a comedy effect as the main protagonist couldn’t seem to get his words right and kept having to re-shoot himself.

Creating Foley Sound

Foley sound is the reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to film, video, and other media in post-production to enhance audio quality. These reproduced sounds can be anything from the swishing of clothing and footsteps to squeaky doors and breaking glass.

Star Wars Examples
Laser Blasts
The sound of a hammer on an antenna tower guy wire
Lightsaber
Blended sounds of TV set and an old 35mm projector to create the hum
R2-D2
Blending water pipes, whistles and vocalisations
Chewbacca
Pieces of walruses and other animal sounds
Imperial Walkers
Modified machinist’s punch press. Sounds of bicycle chains being dropped on concrete for added complexity
An example of Foley sound:
I will use this information to create Foley sound in my Opening Sequence. I will create the sounds of:
1. Sipping from a cup of hot tea
2. Eating a tasty treat
